Hugo Paris reveals the joyful, nostalgia inducing video for his debut single, ‘Music Saves The World’. Soundtracked by this recent garage house jam, a love letter to the iconic House Music scene of 1990’s, the video also pays homage to the underground music culture and vibrant city life in the Big Apple. This stunning montage of daily life in New York City was shot during the Summer of 2020 by Zach Villafana (SteadyPrime), animated by Mortis Studios.
Traversing the soul-filled blocks from Brooklyn through Manhattan and beyond, vibrant animations bring the iconic New York city summer scenes and it’s roller-skaters, skateboards, dancers, friend, workers, and more to life in this video, the perfect match for Hugo Paris’ uplifting US club inspired sound. With the unifying magic of music at the heart of this project, ‘Music Saves The World’ is a hopeful, classic house jam. Teaming up with house music icon Roland Clark earlier this year, Music Saves The World’s emotive lyrics “I am rhythm, I am love, I’m the answer, I am music” were written during New York’s Black Lives Matter protests. Now, Music Saves the World and it’s feel-good video brings a sense of positivity to our present times – one of love, unity and the healing power of music.
Speaking on the video, Hugo Paris says:
“The video was shot in NYC this summer by Zach Villafana and then passed over to Taylor and Dusty at Mortis Sutdios, who animated over the top of the footage. The sound of the record was massively inspired not just by New York records, but the city itself and summers spent there performing and visiting over the years. A city never sitting still and constantly evolving for better and worse, it’s a really special place for me.”
