Out today, May 29, 2026, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN has released ‘The Heart of Fire’ featuring Robert Owens on ILINX Records. It arrives as the second single ahead of the producer’s debut album The Skin Of Time, set to land June 12. Born in Yerevan, Armenia, and now operating out of Dubai, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN has carved out space as a sharp new voice in electronic music. He’s pulled in support from Adriatique, Bedouin, Township Rebellion, Richie Hawtin, and Joris Voorn, while his tracks have landed on BBC Radio 1 and Ibiza Global Radio. Taking his name from Ray Bradbury’s book, the artist treats sound the way the original story treated skin, layering shifting stories packed with tension, emotion, and that constant edge of the unknown. Every production is built with purpose, meant to sit in the ears and settle deeper. 

The track itself starts with a thick percussive base that locks in perfectly behind Robert Owens’ vocal performance. That opening stretch holds a steady, almost hypnotic pull, then, right at the three-minute mark, everything lifts into an acid house breakdown driven by the unmistakable squelchy line of a Roland TB-303. The shift feels sudden but natural, giving the record a clear late-night club edge while staying rooted in house tradition. 

Robert Owens, the Ohio-born architect of late-’80s Chicago house, brings decades of prestige to the collaboration. After moving to London in 1993 he ran his own label and kept releasing, with the 2002 collection Love Will Find Its Way: The Best of Robert Owens rounding up nearly twenty years of essential cuts and the 2008 album Night-Time Stories locking in his lasting impact.
