Power Duo Frythm x Lake Hills release a second single, ‘Over You’

The collaborative duo Frythm x Lake Hills has unveiled their second single, ‘Over You,’ which hit the airwaves on January 19th, 2024. This release serves as a precursor to their upcoming EP, Across The Room, set to drop on February 2nd through Alpha Pup Records. While the duo handled the production and mixing of the EP, Across The Room was mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Daddy Kev, known for his work with artists like Ross From Friends, Flying Lotus, and Shigeto. Both Frythm and Lake Hills have been making strides in the industry. Frythm’s beats have garnered acclaim from BBC Radio 6‘s Tom Ravenscroft, Complex UK, KEXP, and others. Meanwhile, Lake Hills recently showcased his experimental artistry at iii Points Miami and collaborated with Ivy Lab on the IFG Tour.

‘Over You’ unfolds as a sonic dreamscape where the skill of the producers takes center stage. This trippy experimental house/IDM track is rich with dreamy pads, glitchy, and pitched-up vocal samples, all propelled by a minimal breakbeat. Catering to enthusiasts of unconventional beat makers like Nosaj Thing, Flying Lotus, and Flume, ‘Over You’ offers a nostalgic voyage into introspection.

Frythm revealed: ‘Over You’ emerged spontaneously during a session at Pirate Studios. Lake Hills and I were finalizing the EP. I was cooking up beats while waiting for Jake (Lake Hills). I had this idea from the prior night & I layered vocals with Seyaa, creating a surprise for Jake who walked in mid-production, and later wove his magic to bring the track to life from the stems I handed him after the session.”
