Oliver Schories adds his touch to Jasper Sommer’s ‘Wouldn’t You Like To Know’

German DJ Oliver Schories has unveiled his remix of Jasper Sommer’s track ‘Wouldn’t You Like To Know’, which premiered on Electronic Groove. Schories, renowned for his 2012 debut Herzensangelegenheit and subsequent albums like Exit (2013) and Blitzbahn (2018), has amassed over 140 million Spotify streams. He also founded the label SOSO and remained prolific during the pandemic, releasing Paradigm (2020) and collaborating with Jan Blomqvist on ‘Packard’.

‘Wouldn’t You Like To Know’ embodies Jasper Sommer’s signature style, characterised by its moody, introspective tones. Ethereal synths set the backdrop for Jasper’s evocative, velvety vocals, complemented by a subdued beat intertwining with shimmering pads to create an atmosphere of reflection and uncertainty. Oliver Schories’ remix offers a fresh interpretation, steering the track towards deep and melodic house. Infused with a lively four-four rhythm, infectious percussion elements, rich synth layers, and uplifting harmonies, the remix evokes comparisons to artists like Ben Böhmer, Bonobo, and Parra for Cuva. While preserving Jasper’s contemplative essence, Schories transforms the song’s brooding nature into an uplifting anthem, resonating as a hopeful narrative amidst challenging times.

Schories shared: I was originally asked to remix Jasper’s track ‘Memento’ and really liked the idea but then I listened through his entire album and came across ‘Wouldn’t You Like To Know’. I was instantly hooked by the bass and thought: This is the one!“.
