Nothing is as it seems with Wax Tailor’s trip-hop odyssey

For many, well known Wax Tailor singles such as ‘Positively Inclined’, ‘Seize The Day’ and ‘Que Sera’ were played on repeat as they radiated warmth and positivity throughout their homes. But what happens when that positivity simply isn’t enough? What happens when it becomes clear when we need to address the deep-seated systemic issues and no longer sit back with a smile on our faces?

Wax Tailor emerges with the raw and in-your-face bitter truth in his latest album, Shadow Of Their Suns, released today via Lab’oratoire. The album “is an allegory for the different kind of powers that control our world” which leads us down a complex network of sociopolitical messages which are drawn and quartered to irresistible trip-hop and hip-hop rhythms.

The French producer leaves us with some thought-provoking words: “I’m not a lesson-giver but nothing is really neutral, we live in a sick world and music can be food for thought”

We’ve included the full album below but strongly suggest that you spend your Friday evening joining Wax Tailor for Vinyl Listening Session tonight at 6pm CET.
