If the cover of the project is any indication, musician MARIA Die RUHE is excited to be sharing her debut LP with the world. Titled ENARCHY, the LP’s name is a portmanteau of the words energy and anarchy and summarizes her musical philosophy as well as what her album is all about.

“I explore different types of energy, oscillating between head and heart. Referring to Anarchy is the way I produce what I reflect, with no calculation for what could be functional. I became bolder, more explorative, and dissolved genre boundaries,” she tells us, describing how her process is more about feeling and expanding than a hard-and-fast structure.

On the LP, we find the record ‘Equalista’, a brazen track with dark techno influences. A running bassline entwines with hammering kicks and syncopated hi-hats to give it a rave-like feel. The track is best describes as witchy. There is tribal, even primal, quality to its rhythmic progressions, while MARIA Die RUHE’s vocal is upfront, cutting through the mix in a way more typical of the pop genre, adding another dimension to the offering.
