MADJO, an acclaimed Swiss-Senegalese artist, has gained support from ELLE, The Playground, GIGWISE, Sens Critique, RocknFool, and more. Her music has been played on radio stations around the globe, including KXT radio in the US, Southern FM and Yass FM in Australia, Radio France, FIP, Radio Nova & more. Her songs have also been featured in popular TV shows like ‘The Innocents’ and Disney’s ‘Good Trouble‘, and she recently performed at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

Madjo has just unveiled her latest single, ‘Women’, from her upcoming album ‘Rebellion’. Inspired by Maya Angelou’s ‘Letter to My Daughter’, the song celebrates women, their lineages, differences, and legacies. Its music video, directed by Mai Hua, showcases a diverse group of women expressing themselves freely and joyfully. Mothers and daughters of all ages unite to illuminate and honor their collective strength.

Now, Madjo is releasing an EP of remixes for ‘Women’, featuring collaborations with artists such as VAPA, Superjava, and La Fine Equipe. Each remix offers a fresh interpretation of the empowering track, spanning electronic beats, genre-blending sounds, and dancefloor-oriented vibes.

Madjo is a French-Swiss Senegalese singer-songwriter and musician who lived in Brighton, Paris, and Montreal, before returning to put her roots down in the Alps. Over her three albums (“Trapdoor” in 2010, “Invisible World” in 2015, and “Rebellion” releasing in 2024), Madjo has continually reinvented herself by creating an exploratory pop sound that is both warm and lively, as well as intimate, and mixed with indie-rock, soul, folk, and electronic sounds.

Her magnetic voice, her spicy fullness, the alchemy of the feminine and masculine, and her stage presence, are the reflection of sensibility and harmony in a spirited inner world and the nature that surrounds her.

Her next album “Rebellion“, scheduled for release in 2024, marks a new stage in her life as an artist and world citizen. Madjo sings about the other side, the living, and what connects us to the world. In an organic opus, sound after sound, loop after loop, she plays with colors and vibrations that represent our daily lives both infantile and reborn. Courage to face the elements. To write in movement. To become.

LA FINE EQUIPE: Composed of four beatmakers (Oogo, Chomsky, Mr,Gib, and Blanka), La Fine Equipe stepped into the spotlight of the French electronic scene in 2008. The combination of their unique musical personalities creates a universe that is distinctly their own. They notably released the now famous La Boulangerie trilogy, three albums on which they gathered numerous peers by inviting them to contribute to the French beatmaking movement. As worthy representatives of a new French electronic scene symbolized by the expansion of the independent label Nowadays Records, they hit the road in 2015, performing at renowned festivals such as Les Vieilles Charrues, Dour, Les Francofolies, Le Printemps de Bourges, and the Couleur Café festival in Brussels. They concluded the year by winning the Deezer Adami Prize. In 2019, they released the album “5th Season,” followed by “Cycles” and “re-Cycles” in 2021 and 2022. With growing fame, the four beatmakers have caught the attention of major media outlets and influencers such as Arte, MixMag, Radio Nova, France Inter, and Boiler Room, which invited them to represent the new French electronic scene in Paris and London.

The Remix: The group previously collaborated with MADJO on her song “Choose The Heart,” widely supported by Radio Nova in France. Their collaboration continued in 2019 with a feature on La Fine Equipe’s track “Aurora” and an invitation for Madjo to share the stage during the most important dates of the subsequent tour.  They now present their vision of the track “Women,” a dancefloor oriented version blending genres of house and inspired by South African music and the Amapiano movement.

VAPA: VAPA is a French producer who started to release tracks in 2018. He launched his project from Cologne in Germany where he lived for 4 years and created his sound style. He discovered club culture, minimal techno, deep tech and started to collaborate with German producers. The mental and visceral electronic of VAPA will seduce as much the die-hards of the dance floor as the lovers of introspective electronica/techno.

The Remix: In this summer-y electro deep house remix, VAPA wanted to keep the beautiful vocals and the meaning of the powerful lyrics of Madjo’s song “Women”. Gradually, electronic textures begin to weave themselves into the remix, adding layers of warmth and depth. VAPA’s goal was to create a fusion that seamlessly bridges the gap between the nostalgic allure of folk music and the captivating allure of electronic music.

SUPERJAVA: Superjava is a French electro rock duo. Created in 2016 in Paris, Archi and Arnaud immediately spread their music all around the world thanks to several worldwide advertising campaigns. After a tour in France and China in 2019, the release of several EPs and prestigious collaborations (Vintage Culture, Bon Entendeur), the duo will release its first album « Get Sick, Get Better » late 2023-early 2024.

The Remix: Like an infinite whirlwind whose only escape would be Madjo’s voice, this remix takes us into a frantic dance far away from the spotlights. Between London Grammar and The Blaze, the electro rock pop duo Superjava brings Madjo’s Women to club lovers and night owls.
