Techneck has shared a new live video performance titled ‘We Love Techno Vol. 8’ on the 10th of July. Honoring his moniker and exhibiting his craft, dj and producer Techneck sets an unstoppable pace, stringing together track after track of hard-hitting techno beats in the set we have included at the bottom of this interview. The dutch performer does not take so much as a breath, choosing instead to power through. We wanted to know more and so we asked him a few questions about what makes his head turn:

What inspires you?

I just love music. Music makes me happy. And the people who dance to any kind of music inspire me to make more music.

At what point in your life did you have that moment where you said to yourself “This is it. This is the type of music I want to create?”

I was experimenting with all kinds of different styles at the beginning of my career and after 3 years I finally figured out what my sound should be. It has to be funky.

Most underrated piece of equipment / software?

Maschine.

Studio work and music creation or performing and interacting with a live audience, what do you prefer?

Performing and interacting with a live audience, I love to see people dance to the music you have made.

What’s the weirdest or most amazing reaction you’ve had to your music?

When people get the Energy from my music and just want to dance.

Where is dance music going?

I think it will be the biggest scene ever that never stops exploring itself. This will not stop, ever.

All-time favourite album?

The albums of Bob Marley.

What have you got in the pipeline for the near future?

I have many Funky Tech House and many Techno tracks that are finished.

And I hope to play in many clubs and festivals all over the world in the future.
