Israeli producer and DJ HEVI LEVI has returned with yet another hypnotic single, ‘Don’t You Want’, released on the 30th of November via his own record label Joy Group. The track is his interpretation of the 90’s house hit, ‘Don’t You Want Me’, by British producer Felix. The accompanying music video features visual artist Nora Solomon painting a piece to the song. Inspired by greats such as Faithless, Depeche Mode, and Rüfüs Du Sol, HEVI LEVI’s musical style has been compared to the likes of Kevin de Vries, ARTBAT, and Saint Vie. He has performed in underground clubs and at some of the biggest music festivals around the world, namely Tomorrowland, Laundry Day and Escape to name but a few. He’s also received international support from publications such as Mixmag Brasil and many more. Additionally, his music has received significant airtime on esteemed programmes such as BBC Radio 6‘s Nemone sitting in for Mary Anne Hobbs.
‘Don’t You Want’ is cohesive but never settles into monotony. HEVI LEVI’s meticulous production marries the darker elements of techno with the danceability and mainstream appeal of house music, with a touch of trance. The original song’s iconic vocal dances around the mix hypnotically, soaked in delay – this reimagination of the 90s banger is sure to create mesmerizing experiences on the dancefloor.
HEVI LEVI shared: “When I was a beginner DJ and young, I was always captivated by a track called ‘Don’t You Want Me’ by Felix. So I decided that I am going to bring it back to life with a 2023 version with my own sound and vibe.”
