Born out of a common love for melody and transcending soundwaves, the melodic deep house duo Jaffna was realized in 2014. Their music combines percussion and electronic soundwaves to give you their signature house blend, which has captivated the likes of renowned music producer Thylacine who invited the duo to tour with him. After releasing their acclaimed EP Ripples, the duo is back with a new song titled ‘Oslo’ via Enchanté Records.
According to Jaffna members Bravin and Stan, ‘Oslo’ was one of the first songs they wrote together as a duo. We do wonder why it was kept wrapped up all these years to be unveiled much later? But then we forgive this duo because ‘Oslo’ is well worth the listen with textures that sound like they are well thought out, and needed time to be fully realized. Listening to this track, one may imagine they are travelling on a magic carpet to mystical lands on a still and starry night. From that track description alone, you can already sum up that listening to this track will make you feel like you are floating on air. Simple layering moulds the rich percussion arrangements. This track gleams with breezy texture and freshness – a certified mellow banger in our books.
