THE ILLUSTRATED MAN and Sasha Carassi have unveiled their collaborative single ‘Dance of Shadows’ featuring Aquarius Heaven, released via ILINX as a preview of THE ILLUSTRATED MAN’s forthcoming debut album, The Skin Of Time, due June 12. THE ILLUSTRATED MAN has steadily built a reputation within the electronic music landscape, earning support from Adriatique, Bedouin, Township Rebellion, Richie Hawtin, and Joris Voorn, alongside airplay on BBC Radio 1 and Ibiza Global Radio. Drawing his moniker from Ray Bradbury’s The Illustrated Man, he channels a fascination with film, visual art, and science fiction into his productions, crafting immersive narratives through intricate, tension-driven sound design. This cinematic sensibility extends to his live performances, which unfold as evolving, dynamic experiences.

A veteran of the European electronic scene, Sasha Carassi began DJing in the 1990s and established his production credentials with a 2002 full-length album. Renowned for his technical prowess and restless sonic curiosity, Carassi draws inspiration from a broad spectrum of artists, including Burial, Daft Punk, David Bowie, and Aphex Twin. ‘Dance of Shadows’ opens with submerged, enigmatic synth textures, gradually introducing Aquarius Heaven’s ethereal vocal layers above a propulsive, tightly constructed rhythm section. Carassi handled co-production, mixing, and mastering from his Naples studio, ensuring a polished, cohesive sound. The collaboration unfolds with steady pacing, each section revealing new dimensions as the narrative develops.
