After two initial collaborations — Manu Le Malin & Kmyle, then Mézigue & Swooh — Astropolis Records continues to unveil the artists featured on its new compilation “10 ans révolus” (forthcoming by autumn) with a fresh, original and powerful duo: Belaria & Madben.
Member of the Friendsome collective, resident at Le Badaboum (Paris) and on Rinse France, Belaria has established herself over the last few years as one of the most promising and intriguing artists of the new generation. Between EBM, Synth Wave, Italo Body Music, New Wave and Techno, her universe is steeped in the raw, soaring sounds of the 80s/90s post-punk movement. Revealed by Producer Day in 2021, then with her EP ‘Boost & Doubts’ released the following year on Friendsome, Belaria has since joined the ranks of Ritmo Fatale, RAW, WARRIORECORDS and Barbi(e)turix.
Since its beginnings, Madben has paid homage to the techno pioneers while reinventing their work. Inspired by the legends of Detroit, he masters his machines with surgical precision. Whether live or as a dj set, he has scoured Europe’s top clubs (Concrete, Berghain, Printworks…) and festivals such as Piknic Electronik, Awakenings, Nuits Sonores and Offweek. As an enlightened guardian of the rave spirit, his remixes and collaborations on prestigious labels (Bedrock, A-Traction, Traum, Cod3 QR) are numerous. He released two albums: Fréquence(s) on Astropolis Records, with major collaborations (Laurent Garnier, Manu Le Malin, Rebeka Warrior), and Troisième Sens on Maceo Plex‘s prestigious Ellum, of which he is now a mainstay. Over the years, Madben has established himself as a key figure on the European electronic scene.
Bringing together artists close to the festival, emblematic figures of the Astropolis family and the new electronic scene, the label celebrates this anniversary with exclusive collaborations and unexpected encounters.
Belaria & Madben deliver a powerful track designed for closings. Driven by percussive rhythms, synths, and soaring vocals, this first collaboration between the two artists dives into rave and EBM sounds, drawing inspiration from the 90s.
A nod to Gaspar Noé’s film, ‘Into The Void’ is a trippy ride, as powerful as it is emotional. A hallucinatory chiaroscuro where the captivating darkness of EBM intertwines with the ecstatic light of a melody inspired by rave culture.
