Austrian producer Tobias Bergson released his Promise EP this past weekend through PLAYY. Records, expanding a catalogue that has already drawn over 180 million streams and won direct praise from Don Diablo, Lost Frequencies and Steve Aoki. His previous tracks have landed on Armada and Universal Music Austria, while his live energy has lit up Austria’s Spring Festival and earned him spots on Spotify’s editorial playlists. Bergson’s music has captured the attention of DJ Mag, 1001 Tracklists, Mixmag Germany, Mixmag Netherlands, YourEDM, Magnetic Magazine, House Music With Love and Electronic Groove, and has echoed across the airwaves on CBC Music’s Afterdark, KCRW’s Metropolis and RTÉ 2FM. Starting his creative journey at 17 with only software as his instrument, Bergson shapes tracks that pulse with emotion and melancholy, fusing dancefloor drive with introspective nuance. His melodies, intricate and tinged with a spectral quality, carry a familiar gravity, inspired by the likes of Deadmau5, Ben Böhmer, Rampa and Chris Malinchak. Each production glides seamlessly between deep house, techno, progressive, lounge and house, refusing to be confined to a single genre.

The title track ‘Promise’ begins with a lingering, reflective motif, supported by a rolling synth pulse and a vocal haze that floats tantalizingly close. This opening unfolds into an Afro-House rhythm, as waves of synthesis gather and drive the track onward. The production is both precise and intentional, creating a soundscape that will captivate fans of YOTTO, Disclosure and Keinemusik. Across the EP, deep basslines keep the melodic heart firmly rooted for live audiences.

Tobias Bergson shared: “The EP came together over the course of last year and into this year. I’d been experimenting with melodic techno since last year, exploring how I could bring that sound into my own style, and that experimentation naturally evolved into the EP. I also wanted to create something that would translate well into my live sets, at least in parts. That’s why there are a few bass-heavy tracks alongside the more melodic moments. I wanted to keep that energy and weight while still maintaining a strong melodic element throughout the EP.”
